A United Airlines Boeing 787-9 experienced turbulence en route, seriously injuring one cabin crew member. Occurred during either Papeete to San Francisco (UA114) or San Francisco to Papeete (UA115)
Japan Airlines (JAL)
Japan Airlines flight JL57, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, encountered turbulence en route at FL380 (probably around 03:00 UTC/12:00 JST) over Pacific Ocean. One cabin crew member suffered serious injuries. The flight continued to the destination where a safe landing was carried out at 16:53 JST. JTSB launched an investigation as an accident a month later.
