The aircraft was on its way from Iwakuni Airbase to the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) cruising in the Philippines Sea on behalf of the 7th Fleet. It is believed that while approaching the supercarrier, the airplane stalled and crashed in the sea, apparently following an engine failure. Eight crew members were rescued while three were still missing two days after the accident. The wreckage was localized on 29 December 2017 at a depth of 5,640 meteres. Those killed were: Lt Steven Combs, Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Equipment), Airman Matthew Chialastri, Aviation Ordnance Airman Apprentice Bryan Grosso.

After landing at Cherry Point MCAS, the aircraft went out of control, lost its undercarriage and both wings and came to rest, bursting into flames. There were no casualties.

Shortly after takeoff from Chania-Souda Airport, en route to a US Navy ship cruising in the Mediterranean Sea, the airplane suffered a double engine failure and crashed into the sea about 8 km offshore. Three crew members were rescued while seven others were killed.

En route, the crew reported technical problems and later, the twin engine aircraft crashed into the sea. Eight people were rescued while both pilots were killed when the airplane sank six minutes after it was ditched.

En route from Cubi Point NAS to Saigon, the airplane crashed in unknown circumstances into the South China Sea, killing all four crew members.

Just after being catapulted from the USS Ranger (CVA-61), the airplane stalled and crashed into the Gulf of Tonkin, some 130 km northeast of Ðà N<U+1EB5>ng. The aircraft was lost and all nine occupants have been killed. Crew: Lt Meril Olen McCoy, Lt(jg) Anthony J. Piersanti, P03 Clyde Chilton Owen, AMS3 John Frank Szlapa.

The Greyhound was completing a troop transfer from Subi Point, Philippines, to the USS Constellation aircraft carrier. While approaching the navy ship, the airplane went out of control, dove into the sea and disintegrated on impact. Quickly on the scene, about 15 km from the ship, rescuers found some debris floating on water and an oil slick. None of the 26 occupants survived the crash.
