The crew was performing a maritime survey flight off the Dutch coast. For unknown reason, the seaplane hit the water off the Ameland Island and came to rest. While all four occupants were uninjured, the aircraft was considered as damaged beyond repair and abandoned on site.

The seaplane christened 'Pampero' disappeared into the Atlantic Ocean few minutes before its arrival in Bathurst, Gambia. No trace was ever found.
