On December 5, 1995 at 05:54 PM, Nakhchivan - Baku experienced a crash involving Tupolev TU-134, operated by Azerbaijan Airlines - AZAL Airlines, with the event recorded near Nakhchivan Nakhchivan.

The aircraft disintegrated on impact. Thirty occupants were rescued while 52 others, among them two crew members, were killed.
