Shortly after takeoff from RAF Ratcliffe while on a local test flight, the aircraft stalled and crashed. Both occupants were injured and the aircraft was destroyed.

On approach to Leicester Airport, at a height of 1,000 feet, a propeller blade broke off. The pilot lost control of the aircraft that crashed in a field. The pilot was injured and the aircraft was destroyed.

The crew departed Hamble on a test flight on this first example of the Spartan series. En route, the crew encountered an unexpected situation and was forced to attempt an emergency landing. The aircraft crash landed in St. Martins, near Farnham. While both occupants evacuated safely, the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
