The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces and a post crash fire and all three crew members were killed. While descending in low visibility, the twin engine aircraft hit a mountain slope located near Maupertuis, in the region of Panossas. All four occupants were killed. Crew (both from Air France): Maurice Pichon, pilot, Etienne Cazenave, radio navigator. Passengers: Cdt Fresneau, Cpt Longevialle.
