Shortly after takeoff from Gia Lâm Airport, while climbing, the pilot-in-command encountered technical problems with the elevators and decided to attempt an emergency landing. The aircraft crash landed in the bed of the Red River, few km from the airfield. There were no casualties but the aircraft was written off as the right wing was sheared off during the emergency procedure.

While approaching Saigon-Tân Son Nhât Airport, the aircraft went out of control and crashed in a field located in Th<U+1EE7> D<U+1EA7>u M<U+1ED9>t, about 19 km north of the airfield. All five occupants were killed.
