Apparently following a wrong approach configuration, the crew landed long on a wet runway. After touchdown, the aircraft was unable to stop within the remaining distance, overran and came to rest in a ditch. All eight occupants were injured and the aircraft was damaged beyond repair.

In cruising altitude, the airplane went out of control, dove into the ground and crashed on the slope of a mountain located in the Khasi Mountain Range, near Mairang, about 60 km south of Guwahati. The aircraft was destroyed and all three crew members were killed.

The crew was performing a flight from England to India to deliver the aircraft that was brand new. While descending to Rome for a refueling stop, the twin engine aircraft hit the slope of Mt Urbanu located in the region of Viterbo. Both pilots were injured and the aircraft was destroyed.
